week 10 production log

This week we have been very focused on doing editing for our BSR opening, it's difficult because you want to add a lot of content but you have a time limit for two minutes making it hard to choose what scenes are really necessary and what isn't. We have to be very critical of ourselves in editing because our time limit is too small to be making mistakes. My group and I have had to go back and re-film any scenes that we had decided wasn't good enough to be in the film or had any continuity issues. At this point we started looking back on our concept and we're currently deciding what is worth having in and what is not worth having in. We're organising when the entire cast is going to meet so that we can begin shooting our film and getting it into the works, we've had to make some last second cast changes as certain people can no longer attend the scheduled days. We're going to get past this by getting rid of their parts in the film as we deemed it unnecessary to the film. This will take some time to organise and explain to the rest of our production group and could lower morale but we're determined on pushing through to create our film.

Week 9 Production Log

This week has been heavily focused on admin work based around our media coursework, for example call sheets, scripts and treatments for our media work. We have finished filming our first draft for our media work and we know that we will have to film a few scenes again to make them to the best of their capability. My group and I had a hard time getting a girl to play in our film but eventually one said yes and we had to work around that. Our school-provided camera was also a problem because there were some problems with the battery and the tripod was specific to the camera so we couldn't use a camera or a tripod so we just used Chris' own camcorder to film our scenes as a placeholder for the school camera.

These photos have the element of an dirty, gritty environment that is a common convention in British Social Realisms everywhere. These locations will let the audience know about the environmental and economic struggle that the main character is going through and because of our target audience may be able to relate to the character and their situation. These photos also have an urban taste to them so it's obvious that the characters are in a city, and a modern one. We wanted to show that even in a modern and up to date city there are still areas within it that portray a lower class kind of lifestyle and that not everything is fine within the city. Audiences in the same situation might be able to relate and therefor draw inspiration from the characters and it's themes to have guidance in their own lives
